Sussex Yazoo Tag Rugby Finals 2010

The 2010 Yazoo County Tag Rugby Finals took place on Wednesday May 25th at Horsham RFC.  There were 17 schools taking part, from across all 9 School Sport Partnerships.  The finals were run by RFU Community Rugby Coaches, supported by volunteers as part of the nationwide V-Rugby project, and referees from across Sussex.

Throughout the afternoon the standard of Tag Rugby on show was very high, with all the players showing a superb attitude both on and off the pitch.  The final was a hotly contested match between Silverdale from Hastings, and St. Andrews from Brighton & Hove:  with the score being 2-2 at the end of the match, a period of extra time had to be played, ending with Silverdale scoring a couple of tries to take the trophy with a 4-2 win.

The following 8 teams have all qualified to take part in the Regional Yazoo County Finals on June 22nd at Horsham RFC - Silverdale, St. Andrews, East Preston, English Martyrs, Barnham, Stonegate, Holy Trinity, and Balfour.  Good luck to you all!!

Winners – Silverdale (Hastings, East Sussex)
Runners Up – St. Andrews (Brighton & Hove)
