The first Sussex Knockout for the Sussex Trophy was played in 1971,

it was later expanded into three levels, Trophy, Shield and Plate for First XV's,
and the II XV's of Clubs playing at level 5 and above.

In 2004 a 'Team Knockout' competition for 'lower' XV's - i.e. not first XV's,
in three levels, Bowl, Vase and Salver was launched.   

A Womens' Knockout is also competed for.

The Draw for the first round of the Club Competitions is made at the Sussex RFU AGM and appear on the Sussex Team KO's page (see left)
The Draw for the Sussex Club Knockouts will be made later
