U16 Squad News, Fixtures and Results
Latest Information on Sussex U16 squad training, selection and key dates.
All players should have received (via email) a letter from Mark Pascoe (Lead Coach) outlining the training/selection process over the next few weeks.
Training & Selection Process:
- We will only be selecting one team this year which means reducing the squad size to 35. This is because we have been asked by Sussex RFU to focus on Divisional Trials;
- There will be a training session on 13th September RFC for all forwards who were selected for the Sussex U15 squad last season;
- There will be a training session on 20th September for all backs who were selected for the Sussex U15 squad last season;
- There will then be a further training/trials session on 3rd October. This will include trials for any player not previously selected, who is believed to be of county and divisional standard by either their club or school.
- Squad selection will take place after 3rd October.
Fixture dates are above, here are the other key dates & details that you need to be aware of for this calendar year:
Training & Trials:
Monday 13/9: Forwards Training
· For all forwards selected for the Sussex U15 squad last season;
· Venue: Hove Rugby Club
· Please arrive promptly for registration by 6.45pm
· Training will run from 7:00pm – 9:00pm
· Please bring usual training gear including boots & gumshield, plus water or sports drink;
Monday 20/9: Backs Training
· For all backs selected for the Sussex U15 squad last season;
· Venue: Hove Rugby Club
· Please arrive promptly for registration by 6.45pm
· Training will run from 7:00pm – 9:00pm
· Please bring usual training gear including boots & gum shield, plus water or sports drink.
Sunday 3/10: County Trials;
Sunday 17/10: squad training;
Monday 8/11: evening squad training;
Sunday 5/12: Divisional Trials;
Sunday 12/12 Divisional Trials
Please Note:
- Harlequins SOR players are released for the training session on 20/9 which takes precedence over the SOR session on the same evening.
- Harlequins EPDG players are not released for these two sessions;
- There is now no training session on Sunday 12th September.
