Sussex Rugby Football Union was formed in 1883 and comprises 41 Clubs.



Sussex RFU are a 'Constituent Body' (known as a 'CB') of the Rugby Football Union, the ruling authority of the game of Rugby Union in England, who devolve to us the responsibility of being the governing body of all Rugby Union played in the ancient County of Sussex. Sussex RFU covers the administrative areas of East and West Sussex, and the City of Brighton and Hove, within the ancient County of Sussex which runs for 90 miles (144 kms) along the South coast of England. 
    
Sussex RFU work closely with RFU Community Rugby, the Sussex Schools Rugby Union and the Sussex Society of Rugby Union Referees.
