SUSSEX SCHOOLS R.F.U. KNOCKOUT 2009-2010


 COMPETITION RULES

1.
COMPLETION DATES

a) Matches must be completed by the dates published by the organiser.

b) Winning teams must email results to the age group manager WITHIN 48 hours of the match.

c) FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RENDER THE RESULT INVALID.

d) Matches postponed by the weather must be played within 7 days and Cup Organiser notified. In the event of bad weather preventing the fixture being played at the Home venue then the game must be played either at a neutral venue or offered to be played at the Away venue

e) In the event of the Finals Day being postponed, it is the finalists' responsibility to rearrange their game and inform the Cup Manager immediately


2.      REFEREES

Schools shall appoint an outside referee unless both agree not to do so.

3.   MATCHES

a)    Under 12 2 x 20 minutes Games must be played on a modified pitch - Midi-Rugby-Continuum-12-A-Side

b)    Under 13 & 14                 2 x 25minutes

c)    Under 15                         2 x 30 minutes

d)    Under 16 & 18                 2 x 35 minutes


Should a 40 POINT DIFFERENTIAL occur, the tie shall be considered won and lost.

In the event of a clash of colours, it is the responsibility of the HOME team to change.


4. DRAW

In the event of a draw, no extra time shall be played.  The result shall be given to the team scoring the most tries.  If still a draw, then the match shall be replayed, except in the final where the trophy is shared.


5. RESULTS

It is the duty of the WINNING TEAM to notify the age group organiser of the result BY E-MAIL.


6. AGE LIMIT

The age limit is taken at 1st September 2008.

No boy may take part in the competition who is not on the school register at the time of the match, AND he must be in full time attendance.


7.   ALL DECISIONS OF THE ORGANISING COMMITTEE ARE FINAL.

Under 14 State School Knockout Regulations

Referees     Schools should appoint an outside Referee, unless both agree.
Match          2 x 25 minutes
Draw           In the event of a Draw, no extra time will be played.   The side scoring the most tries will win the game.
                    If it is still a draw, the match shall be re-played at the away school venue.
Age Limit    The Age Limit is taken at 1st September 2009
                    No player can take part in the competition who is not on the School register at the time of the match and
                    should be in full attendance.
Results        The winning school should notify the organiser by email within 48 hours of the match being played.
Final           The Final will be held at a neutral venue.
SE Final      Will be held at Thurrock RFC on the third Wednesday in April 2010 


Sixth Form / FE Leagues

1.       The competition will be run on a 15 a-side competition but if one team has only 10, 11, 12, 13 or 14 players, 
          both sides will play with the same number.
2.       There will be THREE Leagues. League positions will be determined by :
          (a)     Points awarded
          (b)     Points difference
          (c)     Points scored then
          (d)     Tries scored
3.       All players must be Under 18 on the 1st September 2009
4.       Scoring system :      4 points for a win
                                           2 points for a draw
                                           1 point for losing a game
                                           1 bonus point for a team scoring three or more tries
                                           1 bonus point for losing by 7 points or less

7.       Finals Day will be Wednesday  (to be decided)
8.       Players must be in full time education at the School
9.       Games will be 35 minutes each way
10.     Replacements in accordance with ERSFU guidelines
11.     The top two teams in each group will then play off as stated. If the scores are the same in the semi-final, the winner will be
                                            (i)    the team scoring the most tries
                                            (ii)   the team scoring the first try of the game
                                            (iii)  penalty shoot-out (3 kicks per team then sudden death).
